color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; white-space-collapse: preserve; text-align: var(--text-align);\">I grew up in a small, rural community before making the move to city life in Pittsburgh.\u00a0 There, I earned my undergraduate degree in English Literature with a Children\u2019s Literature certificate.\u00a0 Immediately, I went into my graduate work, studying Secondary Education at Carlow University, also in Pittsburgh.<\/span><\/p><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-995\" src=\"https:\/\/seizethedayinela.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Where-I-am-Now-300x41.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"41\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seizethedayinela.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Where-I-am-Now-300x41.png 300w, https:\/\/seizethedayinela.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Where-I-am-Now.png 464w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: transparent; color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; white-space-collapse: preserve; text-align: var(--text-align);\">Though I loved my time in the city, home and family were calling my name.\u00a0 So I moved to an area near where I grew up, and I teach at a similarly rural school as my alma mater.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: transparent; color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; white-space-collapse: preserve; text-align: var(--text-align);\">I began my teaching career at the middle level.\u00a0 For more than eight years, I honed my teaching skills in eighth grade.\u00a0 Though it wasn\u2019t necessarily where I saw myself after graduation, I wouldn\u2019t trade those years for anything.\u00a0 I learned so much about classroom management, content creation, and how to hone my skills as an educator.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: transparent; color: #000000; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; white-space-collapse: preserve; text-align: var(--text-align);\">But high school was calling my name.
